Bake your Cake, Fondant it, oh, and EAT it too...

I took the first step towards living my dream tonight.
I have officially made my very first fondant covered cake.
It was by no means perfect, in fact, it was quite the "hot mess" but I loved every second of making it.Photobucket

Mainly because my assistant baker was the love of my life.
He makes my life complete.
I googled something really embarrassing today.
I literally looked around to make sure nobody was around, and typed "How young is too young to get married?"
HAHAHAHA now that I think about it, it's just the most ridiculous thing I've ever done.
I came across a couple 14 year olds who were engaged and a ton of people saying they wish they'd waited...all of those people had at least one kid by the time their first anniversary rolled around.
him and I are different. I won't explain it, because I can't. We are simply different and we fit together better than anyone I know.
When people doubt your relationship things just get so difficult.
We've faced it for the duration of our entire 3 yrs together.
We loved each other then,
and we love each other now:

and that's ALL that matters.

goodnight.

Taylor Swift>Kanye West

Photobucket

Wow. Just wow.
As if we needed this to happen to realize Kanye West is a classless assclown.

Taylor's face after he bombarded the stage like a raging maniac, simply breaks my heart.
Poor girl is a pure talent and some man who synthesizes his voice on his overly obnoxious techno album ruins her very first VMA recipient moment. Not cool.

I think she's got the right idea...

Tonight I went to a wedding.
tonight I realized how much I'm in love with my boyfriend.
Tonight I decided I want to marry him soon.
tonight I wondered why it's unacceptable for a young couple to be married.
Tonight I missed him, more than ever.
Photobucket
I don't know how to explain it, but when you know, you know.
I've never felt this way before.
I've never wanted to plan my future more than I do now.
I've never wanted to m0ve in with him until now.
I've never missed him more than I did tonight.

I'm going to close my eyes and dream now.
bon nuit.

French Music and Flappers

I have no idea why, but I am obsessed with French music. To be honest, I hope this obsession stays. I've been searching for white teapots and I've found so many cute ones. I need to choose one.

I really want to look like this woman below:

NUDE SHOES

Photobucket

can't wait to wear these bad boys with my fierce mini dress from Anthropologie. I am almost feeling better about how much I paid for that dress.

My mom calls me Money Bags these days.
I don't mess around.

rain dance

The forecast is rainy and I couldn't be happier with Mother Nature right now.

I was going to post right now but I am distracted and can't possibly write anything worth reading.
sorry.

"Come watch Intervention with me!!!"

My sister would not let me go to bed tonight. We have been watching A&E's Intervention all day and we are hooked. While I was looking online to see an update from one of the episodes, I stumbled across certain websites where people were putting their unwanted 2 cents (GO FIGURE) into how they felt about the episode.
AND LET ME TELL YOU,
It just makes me furious how people can say "That episode wasn't funny, exciting, or entertaining, you need to get some better material" or "Your show is getting boring and dull".
I mean, really people? Are you honestly that vapid?!
Somebody's life is in danger and their family is being neglected and put through hell and all those lowlifes can say about it is "get some better material"? Sometimes it is easy to lose hope in humanity, let's just say that so I don't explode with offensive words and angry threats :)
I am finished with that rant.

I wish I could say life has slowed down a little bit but it hasn't.
My 2 jobs are still busier than ever (contrary to the belief of nearly everyone around me who thinks I have it easy), my scholarship is on the line and my stress level couldn't be higher about it, school is approaching uncomfortably quickly, and my parents' seemingly "chill" attitude has gone Dr. Jeckel and Mr. Hide on me frequently for the past 3 weeks. Sometimes I think that the only thing I can rely on to make things seem okay is my wonderful boyfriend. We're not perfect, and we do argue, but he is truly my rock. Many struggles early on will build you the most solid foundation and I am so thankful for all that we've been through. He's my very best friend and nobody appeases my craziness as well as he does.

After a long day of work today, my man and I did what we do best...EAT. We went to Montana Avenue, of the Fox restaurant chain, and had a marvelous meal. As we sat there taking our many tasty bites and discussing their components pensively, we simultaneously agreed we'd be fantastic food critics. Thus, giving birth to our newest venture: a blog where we play food critic. We figurered, since we both aren't actually qualified to hold the occupation of actual "Food Critics" we should create a blog for the world to see, or not, and fill the blogging world full of information about the restaurants we visit. Seems like a glorious idea, we'll see how this one develops! I love having side projects with all my little heart.

Going with the food theme, I purchased a book today that one of my favorite bloggies, (oh, and my favorite potential sister in law) highly reccommended to me once:

The book is Skinny Bitch by Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin. I can't give you a review just yet, but hopefully I'll finish it before this new semester starts on Monday, that's my goal at least. No matter what, I'm sure it will prove to be an enthralling read, and I will surely keep you posted.

It is way passed my "bed time" and I'm supposed to hit the gym in the morning at 8 am. This will be day 3 of gettin my fitness on this week. I am really hoping to break the cycle of being a gym freak for a WHOLE week and then falling into a slump of lazy, unhealthy living for the following 3. We shall see how this goes. At least I bought new Under Armor sneaks
Photobucket
and some cute new workout shorts. They were meant to be motivation, and so far it's working.

Goodnight my blogging sweethearts.

Worry dolls and Julia Child

Despite the grouchiness exuded by my other half tonight, I had a very nice time.

After a long day of slaving away working (4 hours...haha) I showered, got ready, and headed over to my boyfriend's house to "start my day". We headed to one of my favorite shopping spots in Tucson, University Boulevard, where I proceeded to spend money I probably shouldn't have spent. The beauty of it all is that I don't regret spending it at all and I adore my purchases.

One of those purchases of which I adore so much, was a package of worry dolls. I don't know if anyone's ever heard of them but when I was younger, and quite the worry wart, my mom gave some to me as a gift to ease the stress of her overly anxious middle child. "Tell them your worries, put them under your pillow, and your worries will be gone in the morning," she said. Whether psychological or not, the dolls always seemed to pacify my worries during the night. Well, today at Urban Outfitters I purchased a pack. There's no doubt in my mind that the dolls are sold at Urban for "trendy" purposes, but for me, it was a blast from the past that made my day. If you've never heard of them, do look them up. Maybe you might end up buying a set. This is what they look like: worry dolls

So after my mini shopping spree, I met my boy's family at La Parilla Suiza (un restarante favorita de mio) and ate a glorious shrimp dish. Following my seafood supper I had the pleasure of seeing the movie Julie & Julia. To say the least, everyone was bored and said "It wasn't as good as I expected". I, on the other hand, was inspired by it in many ways. It resurrected my love for cooking (I literally wanted to leave the theatre and make a delicious 3 course dinner!) and I found the romantic story of Julia Child and her husband breathtakingly adorable. I truly live for romance and stories like theirs melt my heart.

As a movie enthusiast, I recommend Julie & Julia for anyone who has a passion for cooking, romance, or Meryl Streep. The acting was flawless and there were plenty of comedy sprinkled appropriately throughout :)

Tomorrow will be a day full of cleaning, work, and spending time with my boy's family. Hopefully he'll be in a better mood.

Egg whites and lazy Tuesdays.

I have a motivation problem.

I really just feel like my energy level has hit rock bottom. I wake up every day around 11 (when I'm not working) and can't fall asleep until after 1 am. The problems, more likely than not, are my eating habits. A diet full of dining out and sugary snacks is bound to make a person crash and burn.
SO,
This morning/late afternoon, I decided to take initiative. I made 4 egg whites and sliced up a banana to eat also. It was filling, and now I don't feel completely bogged down and heavy. Instead of focusing on losing weight and becoming obsessed with weight loss, I think eating well is going to be the key to regaining some frequently missed energy and happiness. All I can do is stay focused and that is exactly what I'm going to do. Good luck, self.

In other news,
I am in the process of checking my scholarship status at the U of A. Because of some freshman year struggles with time management, I'm in sort of a pickle with my GPA. Not as bad as the majority of people I know...but I think I've dipped .5 below the minimum GPA. We'll see, It's really been a ball of stress eating away at my peace of mind for a long time. I'm going to hope for the best but expect the worst.

Something that really irritates me: Disorganization and lack of planning.
I would rather just know what is going on for the day and not have to be let down every time something "has to change". I wonder if anyone else gets frustrated by this as much as I do.

This post was fairly depressing, and for that I deeply apologize.

until next time,

Impulsive.

This is impulsive.
It's late, early if you prefer, and my unruly eyes never want to shut. I find that my face is scrunched in a wasted effort to sleep night after night. My sleep schedule will have to adjust before this approaching semester.

Nobody will read this, as was the case for my last blog. Maybe it just gives me peace of mind knowing that on the off chance that somebody does, they will be able to relate to my life, personality, or aspirations (of which I am still uncovering).

Tomorrow has a lot to offer me and I wish I was tired. Church with one of my very best friends, lunch with another of my very best friends, work at HCO, work online, then most likely the same uncomfortable alertness at ridiculous hours of the night. I only hope I will be able to muster up the energy to visit the dreaded gym. I really do wish I felt an ounce of motivation toward my life right now. My head is stuck in the clouds, as I dream of bigger things than Tucson; bigger things than working at an overpriced, overrated clothing store.

I am going to say goodnight now, and for no reason at all other than to prevent run-on blogging that will appear to you, the reader, as blah blah blah blah blah (you get the idea).

So, Goodnight, and sleep tight.
Always,
